Female grappling is exploding in its many forms from MMA, Freestyle and Submission matches all over the globe.
Typically female submission wrestling matches are written by our writers at FCI Women’s Wrestling, and they did write about this match, but here at Grappling Stars, we’ve decided to give it a try too.
Not our staple but we love all female grappling.
Here goes.
Reputations are earned over the years for a female submission wrestler’s victories, and as important, who those victories were obtained over.
Hungary’s now legendary Zsuzsa has carved out her victories over some of the toughest women to ever compete in fully competitive women’s submission wrestling.
Her match against Xena, at the great Femwrestle Events, in Troisdorf, Germany was an all-time classic.
She was fighting outside of the pond, in an International fight, at a neutral setting.
Here Zsuzsa is about to meet a sensational fighter who will test every fiber of her athletic being in Italy’s Pamela Strong.
We have purchased many of Pamela’s matches and she virtually always wins.

ZSUSZA VS PAMELA STRONG

This match takes place at Antscha’s famous studio in Hungary.
There is excitement in the air regarding this fully competitive match and after posing and stating their body measurements, the two athletic beauties begin.
The girls start with hand fighting from their knees and Pamela gains the early advantage, grasps Zsuzsa and rolls her into a side body scissors position. Zsuzsa appears to be in trouble as Pamela’s gorgeous body, loaded with feminine muscle, is about to close the deal.
But doesn’t.
Surprisingly Zsuzsa escapes.
The two scramble away from one another, then towards each other again for more intense action.
Zsuzsa tries to engage Pamela with hand fighting but that is not a good idea. Pamela is very adept at grabbing just one of Zsuzsa’s arms and pulling the Hungarian beauty towards her for a powerful head scissors.
This happens twice. The first time Zsuzsa escapes but the second time Pamela pulls her forward and, traps her opponent against the wall, tightens the head scissors and Zsuzsa has no choice but to submit.
At the approximate 2 minute mark, Pamela leads 1-0.
The hand fighting begins again only this time Zsuzsa takes control with a head lock, takes Pamela flat but once again Pamela rolls her into a potential body scissors.
Zsuzsa escapes but it was a very close call.
Pamela appears to be the stronger of the two and maneuvers her way on top of the slight smaller Zsuzsa. To our surprise, she has plenty of opportunities to smother Zsuzsa out but curiously doesn’t take it.
Zsuzsa temporarily has a reprieve.
Pamela is still beating Zsuzsa to the punch in out positioning her and tries to trap Zsuzsa in body scissors twice and one again Zsuzsa escapes.
Barely.
Zsuzsa begins to stalk the energetic Italian princess and Pamela appears to enjoy fighting from the ground, daring Zsuzsa to accidently fall into her body scissors.
Zsuzsa surprises Pamela with a head lock but Pamela easily escapes. Pamela then smiles and says “no way”.
The advantage turns to Pamela and Zsuzsa does indeed fall into Pamela’s body scissors.
This appears to be curtains except Pamela can’t close her out. Zsuzsa is clearly in distress but has strong defensive and endurance skills and manages to fend her off.
At approximately the 7 minute mark, Pamela has clearly dominated the action but in terms of submissions, has very little to show for it.
After continuous hand fighting that leads nowhere, Pamela, with a smile on her face, falls back with her gorgeous legs athletically beckoning Zsuzsa to fall forward, to no avail.
More hand fighting.
Zsuzsa quickly surprises Pamela by lunging forward and trapping her into a floor to knee body scissors and pulls Pamela’s head forward to submit. This is the first real opportunity Zsuzsa has for a submission but we can tell it’s not going to happen.
She simply doesn’t have the strength. Technique is great but if your opponent is stronger than you, as Pamela appears to be here, she will eventually break the hold.
Pamela now mounts Zsuzsa and is in the perfect position for a rear naked choke and shockingly doesn’t apply it. Zsuzsa squirms and is about to break the hold again.
As Pamela is about to try a move, Antscha serving as referee admonishes, “come on Pamela, only submission holds”.
Okay, the clouds part. That may explain some of Pamela’s hesitation when she clearly can close out Zsuzsa. At this point, the rules are in Zsuzsa’s favor.
They engage again and Pamela traps Zsuzsa in yet another body scissor.
Zsuzsa is in excruciating pain but refuses to submit. Pamela gives up on the hold and tries another way.
Pamela is on top of a flattened out Zsuzsa, an ideal position for a smother but Antscha reminds her, “only submission hold Pamela”.
Okay we get it. Pamela appears to be fighting with one hand tied behind her back but still, at this point she is ahead.
Zsuzsa now has the advantage and applies the dreaded head lock and tries to lie her body upon Pamela’s head to apply more pressure. This is probably Zsuzsa’s best chance for a submission. Pamela is not giving an inch. This goes on for minutes.
Pamela breaks the hold.
She uses her strong athletic legs to encase Zsuzsa in an emerging triangle choke with her legs. Zsuzsa is clearly in pain and trouble. Antscha noticing this asks her if she is okay. Zsuzsa says yes, but she doesn’t look okay. Pamela increases the pressure upon her neck.
Exasperated, Zsuzsa finally taps out.
Very well done energetic match.
Pamela wins 2-0.
It could have been much worse, in Pamela’s favor, if all holds applied.
SUMMARY
The girls had comparable technical skills but the combination of Pamela’s strength and powerful legs proved too much for Zsuzsa.
The rules made the match more intriguing and confusing at the same time.
We sense with all rules in play, that menu would have benefited Pamela.
As far as building her legendary status, score some points for Pamela for defeating a legendary female submission wrestler with a reputation gained over 15 years.
