Newer Female Grapplers, Add The Forearm Choke To Your Arsenal, Kat Vs Heidi Max

January 16, 2024,

It is one of the original wrestling moves.

You’ve probably seen it on television quite a few times.

In the Lady Pro ring.

Quite effective too. Depending upon the script. It can be an audience pleaser. It makes a splash.

What is it?

The Forearm Smash.

In the fully competitive female submission wrestling industry, which is not scripted, the forearm can still be used effectively.

No smashing allowed.

MMA style.

In the form of a choke, across the throat. It can be called the Windpipe Forearm Choke or simply the Forearm Choke.

Most of the time, the rules will not allow it but if you find yourself in an MMA styled match with expansive holds, it might be allowed.

Be ready to apply it at the most strategic time.

Here is an exceptional video that shows its application.

Will you use it a lot? Probably not and that can work both ways. Good and not so good.

The not so good is that you may not use it often but since that is probably the case with most in the industry, when you finally do, your opponent will not be used to it and will most likely tap out.

Here is an excerpt from a European match where is was applied very effectively.

HEIDI VS KAT MAX

Origins are very original.

It is often fascinating and revealing how future stars began their careers.

When you view their origins, it tells you so much about where they were and where they are at now.

Kat Max, of Max Academy in Ireland, has evolved into a solid wrestler who often competes against the Hungarian girls at Antscha’s elite wrestling studio. Here today, she will be competing against a gorgeous blonde in Heidi Max.

Kat should be the favorite.

Here is what the producer had to say, “Two powerful women make their debuts on the TC Wrestling mats here. Indeed that’s what this match is all about, as both wrestlers battle to out-muscle each other. Initially this looks like it’s going to be an even contest. But gradually one woman does begin to assert her authority. And ultimately goes on to take a decisive victory.”

Will that be the veteran Kat?

Time to find out.

Let’s go ringside.

As we watch the two girls warmup, looking at Heidi, someone we have not seen much before, we can’t help but notice how gorgeous she is. The short cropped hair and curvy body reminds us of someone inviting their girlfriend or wife to give wrestling a try and she said yes.

Kat is shapely and gorgeous as ever.

The two are most likely very familiar with one another and our hope is that it doesn’t get too chatty or playful.

As they engage they tumble to the mats and while Kat has Heidi’s head locked and circled, she is doing it from the bottom position. Time has spoken to us and over time, it says that Kat is a strong girl and should be able to get out of this, but she is having a hard time. Heidi is pushing the pressure from the top, continuing to have Kat’s neck and head area locked up. Heidi is placing so much pressure on Kat that she looks on the verge of tapping out. Will she?

No. She uses her muscle to roll Heidi under her, who then rolls Kat back under her.

Heidi would like to sit on Kat but the Max Academy star keeps squirming, finally rolls Heidi off and breaks the hold.

It doesn’t last long.

Kat falls into Heidi’s floor to sitting body scissors as the blonde bear hugs her for traction. This struggle goes on for some time but once again, Kat breaks the hold. What is intriguing is, thus far, at this stage of their wrestling careers, the girl with the smaller resume is controlling the action.

They re-engage on their knees. They grasp at one another up top and capture mutual bear hugs. Once again, Heidi gets the better of the competition, pushes Kat backwards and falls on top of her. Kat instinctively scissors the beautiful short haired blonde’s right thigh to prevent a full mount.

Once again, Heidi is in control.

From the top, she forcefully places a forearm across Kat’s throat, presses down, Kat groans and taps out.

1-0 for Heidi (3:48).

A little surprising but again, it is early in Kat’s career.

Time to engage.

This time Kat gets the better of the bear hug and takes down Heidi, who quickly scissors Kat’s left leg to prevent a full mount. Kat is the aggressor this time, wraps her arms around Heidi’s neck and head area, squeezes hard and the shapely blonde taps out.

1-1 (4:22).

Once engaged, Heidi does something a little different, swings her right arm under Kat’s legs while flipping her downward and it on top of her. In response, Kat scissors both of Heidi’s legs, a little unusual but temporarily effective.

Heidi will eventually break out of the leg clamp, pull Kat forward and grasp her in a headlock.

They struggle with Heidi on the bottom who scissors Kat’s left leg.

The hold is broken and they come back to their knees and start over.

This time as they engage, Heidi lands on top and while the two girls struggle, once again she uses a forearm across the throat and Kat taps out.

2-1 for Heidi (6:09).

Two gorgeous girls going at it.

We will stop the match review here, but we sense you get the point.

Adding as many weapons as you can to your wrestling arsenal is always a good move. It places you in a position to catch your opponent by surprise and, in the case of the forearm choke, you will most likely have no answer for it.

Good for you.
