In terms of the British mixed wrestling beauty being a serious grappler, please get past her name.
Even though we won’t suggest a name change, can Bambi be the name of a serious female submission grappler?
Bambi has been wrestling for some time now, with moderate success, thus the question we have is, the focus group that spoke with Bambi, about picking that name as her marketing brand, are they still friends? Do they still talk?
There was a famous wrestler named Bambi in the past. The rub is, she was a scripted wrestler.
Selina Majors, (born May 24, 1967), better known by her ring name, Bambi, is an American professional wrestler.
Bambi debuted as a professional wrestler in 1986 working for David McLane. She competed in his nationally televised professional women's wrestling league, Powerful Women of Wrestling (POWW) as Bambi. In 1987 and 1988, Bambi feuded with AWA World Women's Champion Madusa Miceli.
She was indeed exciting to watch.
Today’s Bambi, who wrestles in England, is incredibly enjoyable to watch as well.
At the most recent exceptional Submission Room Live Event in London, Bambi earned some props by wrestling the veteran Laken and a formidable wrestler in Blonde Crusher. We admired her even more because she wrestled with a supportive sleeve on her right thigh.
She is a warrior who can wrestle through pain.
That is a sign of one tough girl. It certainly motivated FCI to purchase a number of the event videos.
So, in appreciation for Bambi’s great submission wrestling efforts, here are excerpts of her previous match reviews.

MORGANA VS BAMBI

Generally when newer wrestlers are starting out, they are aggressive, get many submitting opportunities but are not experienced enough to close the deal and let many submission opportunities slip away.
So much today will be about strengths and weaknesses of holds.
They begin on their knees.
In their initial engagement, Bambi’s growing experience shows as she takes down Morgana, who temporarily gives up her back. Bambi immediately captures her with a body scissor and semi-choke.
Those are the strengths of Bambi’s initial charge.
The weakness, and a big one, is that she is applying this from the bottom or underneath position.
Morgana struggles to break free.
She does manage to break both holds but in doing so, now she is in the bottom position. To gain control, Bambi surges to a top cross body position but it is fluid and not secure.
They struggle more.
Bambi loses the hold as Morgana now captures her in a floor to sitting body scissor. Bambi is not in immediate danger but she does need to pry the scissors loose. Now Morgana is beginning to control the direction of the grappling.
That’s a strength.
She is doing it from the floor and that is a weakness. If Bambi breaks the hold, she is right back on top of Morgana.
She bear hugs Bambi, and for the moment, rolls her into a side body scissor. If she can keep her there, it is an ideal opportunity for a submission.
She can’t.
Bambi gets back up to the sitting position but Morgana still has control.
As Bambi leans backwards to break the scissor, this is an ideal time for Morgana to push her backwards and gain the top position. She grabs at Bambi’s wrists to maneuver as Bambi fights her attempt.
Bambi continues to buck and try and kick Morgana off.
Morgana adeptly rolls Bambi into a side body scissor coupled with a semi-choke. This is her best opportunity for a submission but with newer girls, nothing is guaranteed.
Fortunately for Bambi, she has her left arm inside of the scissor hold, preventing a full crunch.
Morgana begins to roll her around for a better position and now is in a situation to apply a powerful rear naked choke but Bambi is not giving in. She continues to fight the power.
Bambi is now on top but still trapped in Morgana’s scissor. There is no threat of a submission but Morgana, from the floor, is somewhat controlling the action with her strong thighs and legs.
The beautiful brunette clearly works out at the gym.
Bambi turns and almost breaks free but Morgana is back on top of her but now in an elongated position. This is an ideal time for a smother as she also has Bambi trapped in a grapevine. Morgana’s arms are out stretched, as she positions herself perched on arms, straightened above Bambi’s head.
That is the strength.
The weakness is that Morgana should immediately slide her hands behind Bambi’s neck, tighten her grip, pull Bambi’s head upward and let gravity work in her favor, causing a crushing smother but she doesn’t do that.
Morgana lets the submission opportunity slip away and Bambi breaks the hold (7:50).
GOTH DELILAH VS BAMBI
This is match two at Pippa’s Submission Room Live Event Number 23.
After being introduced the two girls start with slow hand fighting and Goth immediately takes the top position. Their movements are slow and they are talking and giggling in the beginning but hopefully the match will quiet down and tighten up.
The initial struggle sees Bambi on top but Goth is not threatened since Bambi is not really applying any strong holds.
Goth will soon slowly begin to apply her training as she applies a sitting body scissors to Bambi which soon turns into a wrist lock from the top but still, nothing serious thus far.
Bambi is in a jovial mood so the match still has a sparring session feel to it but Goth is sitting on top of her slowly making a decision as how she wants to attack this.
She slides Bambi into a side body scissors, swings her arm around Bambi’s neck and applies a soft choke. Secure in the trap, Bambi taps out.
1-0 for Goth Delilah (4:35).
EMILY VS BAMBI
The beautiful women walk towards the center of the mats and we have rarely been stunned by how nicely formed the two beautiful girls are. We absolutely look forward to a ground war and some erotic leg struggle in fully competitive action.
The ladies begin with hand struggle and Emily is first to lock Bambi up at the wrists.
As we had hoped for, the two gorgeous girls find themselves locked in leg struggle. In addition, they roll around in struggle for good measure.
Finally the muscular Emily finds herself sitting on top of Bambi with the taller girl’s arms and wrists secured on the mats.
Curiously Emily just sits there and does nothing with this. Why not fall forward for an effective smother? Maybe it is against the rules and this is a different type of match.
Maybe.
Since Emily does not appear to be trying to submit Bambi, eventually Bambi gets out of the underneath position. Of course.
Bambi is now on top, but not in control. Emily pulls her forward for a floor to sitting body scissors attempt.
Though skilled, Emily’s lack of closing skills is very apparent. Though talented, Bambi is not a formidable opponent and yet, Emily has not submitted her.
They struggle on the ground once more and Emily traps Bambi in an alligator roll while she still keeps Bambi’s head and neck locked.
They struggle more and Bambi, more than once, breaks the holds but can’t seem to take control herself. Emily’s strong arms and legs are a clear separator.
She now maneuvers Bambi into a position of extreme weakness with a combination arm bar and light head scissors. Bambi lies helpless underneath but tries to kick out with her silky smooth legs. To no avail.
Emily continues to apply the pressure in different forms of head and neck embraces. We would not describe them as headlocks but they are close.
Finally, from the underneath position, Emily pulls Bambi’s head forward with both of her muscular arms wrapped around Bambi’s neck and tightens the grip. As Bambi tries to slide out, she accidentally places her face and neck sideways and Emily squeezes tight.
Bambi finally taps out.
1-0 for Emily (7:05).
SUMMARY
There you have it.
Bambi is certainly gorgeous and entertaining.
In terms of her name, our suggestion?
Get used to it.
Embrace it.
