It’s all about the neighborhood. Especially if it’s a great neighborhood. Great restaurants, shopping within walking distance, upscale housing and a sense of community make for a great neighborhood.
That sounds like San Francisco’s Financial District and despite what many think, it is not just a business district. It can be a wonderful neighborhood, especially on the weekend when the commuters have gone back to the suburbs.
We were happy to write about it. Take a read:

As much as the Financial District has to offer, there still are some hidden gems.
Where do so many of the young and upwardly mobile work out to keep those athletic forms? Well, if you have chosen Pilates as your pathway to health, then Maiden Lane Studios could be for you.
They’re conveniently located in the heart of San Francisco, near public transportation and parking, and walkable to Union Square and the Financial & SOMA business districts.
They appear to do it all. Barre, yoga & Pilates classes, plus customized wellness programs, in a historic brick building.
Let’s walk over and meet them. They seem to have a clear and strong vision. At their attractive and cool website maidenlanestudios.com they share, “We are San Francisco’s premier boutique studio for fitness & wellness. We believe in intelligent movement for the modern body, using science-based methods to help you achieve a healthier and happier life. Our exceptional instructors, comprehensive programming, and small class sizes & personalized attention set us apart from the rest.”
They are unique. Give them that.
This is why Vogue Magazine, Top Fortune 500 companies, and the San Francisco Bay Area’s best & brightest all praise by Maiden Lane Studios.
They have our attention. We want to know more about them. What is their story?
The staff is happy to oblige, “Maiden Lane Studios opened in 2012 at 80 Maiden Lane, as San Francisco’s premier studio for Lifestyle Fitness™, setting a new standard for high-quality fitness and lifestyle services ever since. The studio was created out of a desire to provide more effective, thoughtful, and intelligent Pilates, barre, and yoga training, all set in a chic yet warm environment.
We find that smaller, intimate-sized classes, and highly trained and experienced instructors and staff, set us apart from the big-box gyms and even other boutique studios. Maiden Lane Studios is owned by Bay Area natives and is proudly owner-operated as well. We are committed to our clients, treating and paying our staff and instructors exceptionally well, and to the betterment of our community & environment.”
That sounds great. Her staff gets paid and treated well so they are likely to stay and continue their relationships with clients.
Maiden Lane has an abundance of talent on their staff.
The leadership has high standards in terms of who they hire. They explain, “Fitness is a part of our everyday lives, and we believe that all of us deserve the “celebrity” treatment: the best instructors, a high level of attention, and genuine care.
Maiden Lane Studios carefully hires our instructors based on a number of factors.
Our instructors have several years of experience working with individuals with varying needs and goals, including increasing athletic performance, rehabilitating mild to severe injuries and movement disabilities, to improving overall health and fitness.
With a focus and background in anatomy, physiology, and functional movement principles, our instructors are able to tailor sessions our clients, ensuring that they are safe and effective. And very importantly, our instructors and staff are professional, warm, and passionate about helping our clients achieve their goals.”
We’ve never researched any Fitness Group that have so clearly stated how well-educated and trained their instructors are and we have researched a lot.
