Female MMA, UFC And Chiliz Announce Partnership

June 24, 2020,

Lifestyle changes, though sometimes painful, almost always spark innovation that speaks to new trends.

Today’s generation may take a microwavable dinner for granted but there was a time when cooking a meal from scratch on top of the stove or in the oven was your only option.

The term TV dinner was first used as part of a brand of packaged meals developed in 1953 by the company C.A. Swanson & Sons. The original TV Dinner came in an aluminum tray and was heated in an oven.

For those of us who have been around long enough to have had one, admittedly they didn’t taste all that good.

Unless you were really hungry.

The first Swanson-brand TV Dinner was produced in the United States and consisted of a Thanksgiving meal of turkey, cornbread dressing, frozen peas and sweet potatoes packaged in a tray like those used at the time for airline food service.

My how they have evolved.

Concussions in the NFL brought about the targeting rule changes. Concerns about the environment introduced electric cars. The online world changed the way we do our banking and shopping.

We could go on.

The coronavirus and all of the lockdowns and limitations is spawning new innovations and one of them is something that we sure had to look up to understand its meaning.

Welcome to block chain-based fan engagement.

Speaking of TV Dinners, that is a mouth full.

What does it mean?

Blockchain was invented using the name Satoshi Nakamoto in 2008 to serve as the public transaction ledger of the cryptocurrency bitcoin.

Okay. How do we spell confused?

Let’s keep going.

A blockchain, originally block chain, is a growing list of records, called blocks, that are linked using cryptography.

Each block contains a cryptographic hash of the previous block, a timestamp, and transaction data.

Okay, still confused, but let’s keep going.

The invention of the blockchain for bitcoin made it the first digital currency to solve the double-spending problem without the need of a trusted authority or central server.

Blockchain is considered a type of payment rail. Private blockchains have been proposed for business use.

Blockchain technology can be integrated into multiple areas. The primary use of blockchains today is as a distributed ledger for cryptocurrencies, most notably bitcoin.

Time to turn to the news for blockchain’s practical use.

In December of 2019, as reported by sportstravelmagazine.com, “For sports fans unfamiliar with the term, “blockchain” may sound like some new football strategy instead of what it is: An encrypted computer network technology used for keeping records on—and thereby verifying—transactions involving cryptocurrency or other items of value.”

Starting to make more sense.

What is a new trend now will be second nature later.

We say all of this because as lovers of the female fight game, the UFC has an announcement to make of their own regarding blockchain and we sense you will find it intriguing. We sure did. Please enjoy.
