Miami Beach, Crystal Blue Zen Rejuvenation

May 31, 2021,

Gleaming, sometimes steaming and always glowing, the city of Miami Beach is like a majestic jewel rising from the ocean beckoning you to visit.

There are so many great reasons to go.

The sun drenched sandy beaches framed by crystal azure waters are a vision of dreams. It is as though you could lie on the beach every day, sip a luscious beverage and people watch. Eye candy everywhere.

Great memories in the making.

Miami Beach is a coastal resort city in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

The municipality is located on natural and man-made barrier islands between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay, the latter of which separates the Beach from the mainland city of Miami.

The neighborhood of South Beach, comprising the southernmost 2.5 square miles of Miami Beach, along with Downtown Miami and the Port of Miami, collectively form the commercial center of South Florida.

We thought it was larger but to our surprise, Miami Beach's estimated population is 88,885 according to the most recent United States Census estimates.

This following is not a surprise.

In 1979, Miami Beach's Art Deco Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Art Deco District is the largest collection of Art Deco architecture in the world.

From its outset, Art Deco was influenced by the bold geometric forms of Cubism and the Vienna Secession; the bright colors of Fauvism and of the Ballets Russes; the updated craftsmanship of the furniture of the eras of Louis Philippe I and Louis XVI; and the exotic styles of China and Japan, India, Persia, ancient Egypt and Maya art.

This majestic Atlantic jewel comprises hundreds of hotels, apartments and other structures erected between 1923 and 1943. Mediterranean, Streamline Moderne and Art Deco are all represented in the District.

Miami Beach, particularly Ocean Drive of what is now the Art Deco District, was also featured prominently in the 1983 feature film Scarface and the 1996 comedy The Birdcage.

There is the beautiful beach but there is so much more in terms of recreation in the city of Miami Beach and their city site, miamibeachfl.gov, is very excited to tell you about it. They smile, “The City of Miami Beach Parks and Recreation Department prides itself on providing a fun and safe place for those who live and play in our beautiful, vibrant community. With over 40 parks and facilities to explore and hundreds of different programs, we strive to provide the best experience for you and your family.”

Over 40 pristine parks. That is very impressive.

The global travel experts at tripadvisor.com add, “Miami Beach has long been a playground for those seeking sunny days and wild nights. However, there’s more to Miami than sparkling beaches, shimmering pools, and nightlife that never stops.”

Very observant.

Have you ever thought of Miami Beach in this light? Dim light? Spiritual light?

Very Zen.

After the devastation and stress of the global pandemic, wouldn’t it be nice to have a Zen moment on a quietly alluring ocean beach?

Of course you want that.

We know just the right place.
