Cirque du Soleil, Flying High Again, MGM Grand Hotel

July 10, 2021

For those of you who have been to France, bravo.

For those of us who have not been to France, shame on us.

Look. If you can’t go to France, why not bring France to you?

No, you don’t need a shovel and bulldozer. No, we’re not going to direct you to another yawn fest Rom Com, so many of which are shot in France.

Now don’t get us wrong. We love a Romantic Comedy just as much as the next politically correct goof. In fact maybe more.

You see, we desire to live a drug free life, which includes avoiding ingesting sleeping pills so when we feel the urge to sleep, we flip on a Rom Com and like clockwork, within 3 minutes and 19 seconds we’re out like a French light.

To experience France, with the lights on, there is a continental solution.

All you need to do is travel to Las Vegas. A bit of France is waiting there for you.

Cirque du Soleil, meaning "Circus of the Sun" or "Sun Circus" is a Montreal-based entertainment company and the largest contemporary circus producer in the world.

At their high flying home, cirquedusoleil.com, they smile, “Discover how a troupe of street performers in small town Quebec became a household name throughout the world. Cirque du Soleil has redefined how the world views the circus; from small town talent to a household name.

Upon entering our fourth decade of entertaining fans worldwide, Cirque du Soleil has not lost the forward thinking flair that sparked the adoration of anyone who witnessed it back in its early days.

From the family friendly Beatles Love, which re-contextualizes the psychedelia and exuberance of the fab four’s iconic catalogue of pop music for the stage through a stunning visual spectacle, to the erotic, adult oriented Zumanity, an exploration of sexuality in all of its manifestations committed to the stage in a stunning and shocking spectacle, Cirque du Soleil continues to push boundaries and stun fans, both old and new, worldwide.”

We have seen the show and we were stunned at its passion, artistic beauty and aerial magic.

Enjoyed the show with a group from our female submission wrestling community. Had a great time.

Due to the pandemic, Cirque du Solei was temporarily on hold but now, drum roll please, they are back, along with some other A-List names.

Where?

Las Vegas, of course.

Specifically?

The MGM Grand Hotel.

The MGM Grand is the largest single hotel in the United States with 6,852 rooms. It is also the third-largest hotel complex in the world by number of rooms and second-largest hotel resort complex in the United States behind the combined The Venetian and The Palazzo.

When it opened in 1993, the MGM Grand was the largest hotel complex in the world.

We’ve stayed there too, in a room with a view. Loved it.
