September 2, 2021,
From hoarding toilet paper, paper towels, rubbing alcohol, bleach and water, to watching one small business after another close down, many permanently, due to Covid-19, it is a wonder that the economy seems to have recovered so quickly.
Unfortunately for some, the vaccines and the economic recovery did not come fast enough.
According to the Wall Street Journal, “The pandemic resulted in the permanent closure of roughly 200,000 U.S. establishments above historical levels during the first year of the viral outbreak, according to a study released Thursday by economists at the Fed. In recent years, about 600,000 establishments have permanently closed per year, or about 8.5%, according to the study.”
And yet one industry seemed to thrive during those tough hardships.
As reported by foxbusiness.com, “Coffee companies with online presence and subscription services saw an enormous boost in e-commerce sales in the early months of the coronavirus pandemic last year, an indication that consumers unable or unwilling to visit their favorite coffee spot at the start of the pandemic switched to making their brew at home – and many are sticking with it.”
People all over the world love their coffee.
Outdoors or in.
Fortunately, it is a product that can be purchased in the supermarkets, the corner store, at restaurants or online.
One premiere coffee manufacturer whose product is always in high demand is Lavazza.
Luigi Lavazza S.p.A., shortened and stylized as LAVAZZA, is an Italian manufacturer of coffee products, founded in Turin in 1895 by Luigi Lavazza.
It was initially run from a small grocery store at Via San Tommaso 10. The business (Italian: S.p.A.) is currently administered by the third and fourth generations of the Lavazza family.
Loyalty. Staying power. Very impressive.
Lavazza imports coffee from around the world, including Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras, Uganda, Indonesia, the United States and Mexico.
Sustainable production concerns have led the company to develop the ¡Tierra! project, a sustainable agriculture program in Honduras, Colombia and Peru, that seeks to improve the quality of coffee as well as the environmental and working conditions of those communities.
Their company speaks to that at their home lavazzagroup.com, “Blend for Better sets out the Group’s approach to Corporate Social Responsibility, building on deeply held values to define our current commitment: to not only produce top-quality coffee, but to do so in a sustainable way that integrates the principles of sustainability in all processes. This means looking at value creation in a fresh light, one in which corporate decisions take social and environmental factors into account, as well as economic ones.”
Makes good sense.
Branded as "Italy's Favorite Coffee," the company claims that 16 million out of the 20 million coffee purchasing families in Italy choose Lavazza.
A group that is often branded as the world’s favorite professional tennis tournament, the US Open, loves Lavazza as well and will partner with them at this year’s 2021 tournament in New York.
