MTV’s Tana Mongeau, Mega Influencer, Content Creator, Never Content

January 19, 2022,

Overwhelmed.

In awe.

Intimidated.

Flabbergasted.

No, scratch the last one.

Still, watching Influencer Tana Mongeau’s life is like walking into a 50 acre theme park, safari and swimming pool playground, amphitheater and a massive restaurant included, where you are scheduled to have lunch with giraffes with million dollar necklaces around their throat and try and soak it all in within an hour.

You just can’t.

She is known to make "storytime" videos and similar content posted to her YouTube channel.

During her Meet and Greets at live showings, she hugs, mugs and shrugs in glowing boots with super high heels. Her audience loves her. They are crazy about Tana.

She has an extensive entourage. They help her wake up and put her makeup on then plan her day.

A plastic cup of over-priced coffee or some other tasty iced drink is always nearby.

Does she really need more sugar and or caffeine?

Is there drama in her life?

Tons.

Maybe not of the Kardashian kind but sometimes close.

On February 10, 2017, Tana posted on her Snapchat that she was being investigated by the FBI after someone hacked into her emails and "sent a bombing and shooting threat to McCarran International Airport.

Ouch. Which one? FBI, FBI Most Wanted or FBI International?

To give you some perspective, when she has a birthday, she throws two parties, one of them costing over $100,000.

At least 600 people show up. There is security, YouTubers, celebrities galore, hairstylists and dentists to the stars among others and if she ever invited us, within 5 minutes we would have a nervous breakdown having to maintain conversations with these new world Hollywood superstars.

We just couldn’t keep up.

Some of the lingo is beyond us. It’s like learning a youthful foreign language.

The young and incredibly wealthy have taken over and the world has passed us by. Way by. Wave bye.

Bye, bye, bye.

Still, watching and listening to Tana talk a million miles a minute is captivating.

How does she communicate with her potential fiancé at her party?

Through his manager. And her manager.

Better than communicating through divorce lawyers.

Will they have bed parties after marriage and continue to communicate with one another through their handlers? On cell phones? Is touching allowed?

Her fiancé may not show because she invited someone to the party that he hates.

Have to side with the fiancé on this one.

He has his reasons for not liking the guy so why invite him? Who is your loyalty to?

This is way too Hollywood and Social Media deep for us.

Panels, meet and greet, interviews are just the starting place.

We understand why Tana needs a great manager. He seems closer to her than her fiancé and he has a dog that keeps barking and she puts up with it.

Good to know who is the Big Dog in her house.

They keep talking about VidCon. What in the world is VidCon?

VidCon is an annual convention for fans, creators, executives, and brands online.

The event primarily features prominent video stars from across the internet.

The flagship VidCon US event celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2019, welcoming 75,000 attendees and over 120 brand exhibitors.

In 2020, VidCon launched VidCon Now, its first virtual experience that delivers ongoing weekly programming to its global fan base.

Throughout the summer of 2020, “VidCon Now”streamed the IRL convention with over 150 virtual sessions across all three established tracks and closed out with nearly one million unique viewers, 1.3M total views, and over 9M minutes of watch time.

How much have they grown?

The first VidCon was held on July 9–11, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza hotel in Los Angeles and sold out in advance with over 1,400 people attending.

In February 2018, Viacom (owner of the Viacom Media Networks and film studio Paramount Pictures) announced that they were acquiring VidCon, as part of its efforts to expand its live-events business, and to expand from TV programming to next-generation entertainment platforms.

VidCon’s international presence continues to expand with additional events planned in Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Mexico City, and São Paulo.

Okay. We get it. VidCon is a big, big, big deal. Especially to Tana who literally ticked off the big boys at VidCon by promoting and having TanaCon.

Never do anything that large as revenge when you are angry about not being designated a Feature Creator.

Intriguing snub title.

You didn’t get featured as much at VidCon as you thought you would. No, make that deserved.

By all accounts, TanaCon was a disaster. Take off Tana and leave it at Con, some felt.

It was announced on April 29, 2019, that Mongeau will be starring on her own MTV reality series titled MTV No Filter: Tana Turns 21 premiering Summer 2019.

It was good. Really good. We watched and learned much. Liked Tana more.

That and 5.45 million subscribers carries a lot of clout.

Someone or two noticed.

In May 2019, VidCon said that Mongeau would be a featured creator at the convention. VidCon co-founder Hank Green had said in 2018 that he had "100% screwed up" in not inviting Mongeau to VidCon 2017 as a featured creator.

Tana, feel better? Course you do.

Here is the thing Tana is noted for. She is in the business of stirring up a buzz after all.

She began dating fellow American YouTuber and internet personality Jake Paul in April 2019.

In June 2019, the couple announced that they were engaged, although many fans and commentators did not believe that the engagement was legitimate.

(We’re whispering)

We watched the show and they didn’t seem to be in love to us. Just saying.

On July 28 of that year, Paul and Mongeau exchanged vows in Las Vegas.

InTouch later reported that the couple had not obtained a marriage license prior to the ceremony and that the officiant was also not licensed by the state of Nevada.

Why are we not shocked?

As a result, the marriage was not legally binding.

Buzzfeed reported that Paul and Tana left the ceremony separately.

Here is the buzz.

The ceremony, which was available on pay-per-view for $50, was recorded for MTV No Filter: Tana Turns 21.

How many subscribers again?

On an episode of the show, Tana stated that the ceremony was something "fun and lighthearted that we're obviously doing for fun and for content."

Okay. Nuff said.

The couple announced their break-up in January 2020.

No divorce needed. Saved a lot on money.

No surprise but very entertaining.

Tana is super entertaining. So mature (and rich) to be so young.

Some people have figured it out. So early. Good for Tana.

We loved watching her “Drama” and how she handles it. Isn’t there good drama?

Whatever you want to call Tana’s style and antics, it is very captivating. Enthralling.

And that our friends, is no Tana con.
