April 20, 2022,
Joining the ranks of the growing global female MMA Fighters promises not to be a mellow experience.
Virtually no Kumbaya.
For 19 women, it has been a Melo experience as they’ve gone toe to toe with one of the Professional Fighter’s League (PFL) premiere warriors in Vanessa Melo.
She has caught our attention because the PFL continues to show the world they are very serious about investing in the future of their league and attracting more top talent.
Vanessa Melo is such a talent.
Vanessa is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who competes in the Lightweight division of Professional Fighters League (PFL). She is most known for her time spent fighting in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Vanessa was invited into the UFC as a short-notice replacement by Irene Aldana at UFC on September 21, 2019.
Her next fight was again a late-replacement fight against Tracy Cortez on November 11, 2019 in Sao Paulo at UFC Fight Night: Błachowicz vs. Jacaré.
As you can see, even at the last minute, when called upon, Vanessa is ready to step up.
While Vanessa has compiled an overall winning record of 11-8, On February 4, 2021, it was announced that she was released from her UFC contract.
Just as they did with Megan Anderson, they don’t play around.
Time to say hello to the PFL.
Vanessa is from Taboão da Serra, Brazil.
If you wanted to travel to experience the weather you choose to, Taboao is intriguing.
Summers are rainy and not too warm. The winters are rainless and not too cold.
Talk about a play upon words.
The year average temperature is 63.5 degrees, and the coldest month is July, averaging 55.4 degrees. The hottest month is February with an average temperature of 71.6 (22 °C). Rainfall is abundant, amounting to an annual average of 1,400 millimeters (57.2 inches).
We could sure use some of that here in Northern California.
Vanessa is scheduled to face Martina Jindrová on May 6, 2022 at PFL 3.
That will be a tough challenge for Vanessa as she takes on an impressive winner from the March 6, 2022 Challenger Series.
As reported by knockdownnews.com, “Martina Jindrova secured a PFL 2022 regular-season contract at the promotion’s third “Challenger Series” on Friday night. Jindrova’s contract opportunity came after being the only fighter to go to a decision on the episode.”
We should be seeing more of Vanessa Melo as the PFL has signed yet another sponsor.
Defeating Martina would help that cause.
Speaking of sponsors, at drinkbravago.com they smile, “It’s time to let you in on a bold secret. There’s a new hard seltzer in town and it’s the seltzer you’ve been searching for. This is not the neglected can of tasteless carbonation at the bottom of your friend’s cooler.
With three unique flavors to intimidate your taste buds, natural sweetness from monk fruit, and a higher ABV than the average-Joe hard seltzer, Bravago is not simply better, it’s bolder — because you’re bolder. It’s the first hard seltzer that you won’t want to hide in a koozie.
Consumed by risk takers, adventurers, and those who live life in pursuit of the badass and avoidance of the beer belly, Bravago is the best tasting, better-for-you alternative to your favorite canned alcoholic beverage.
Each 12-ounce can is gluten-free with only 110-120 calories, 3-4 grams of carbs, 2 grams of sugar, and 5.1% ABV. We know you’ll enjoy our three bold flavors.”
Sounds impressive and energy packed.
Watch a great female MMA fight, yell, scream and work up a thirst.
Time for a closer look.
