London Event, Nika Vs Yuri, New Girl Grapples Like A Pro

Usually it is the new girl who is trouble. Big trouble.

Possible domination embarrassment trouble.

Here, since we’ve seen Nika wrestle before, new girl though she may be, against Yuri, she is a heavy favorite.

The math is simple. Nika dominated veteran Ivy Rain.

Ivy Rain defeated Yuri.

We sense you are very good at addition.

Submission subtraction too.

Nika is a rare talent and since we don’t see a Session profile, we’re not sure if we are going to see her again. Over the decade that FCI has covered women’s submission wrestling, we have so many new female wrestlers make a great initial appearance, only to never be seen again.

Appreciate the moments. Appreciate right now.

A very strong life lesson.

The two beautiful wrestlers walk down the traditional two story stairs into the ring, wait for the introductions and are ready to go.

NIKA VS YURI

This match takes place during wrestling Monica’s November 2022 event.

The two warriors initiate with an upper body struggle, soon crash to the floor with Yuri falling on top of Nika.

Nika quickly scissors Yuri’s right leg to prevent a full mount.

As they continue to struggle, Yuri gives up her back which Nika is quick to take advantage of. Nika is well versed in MMA techniques. She pulls the long haired brunette towards her, traps her in a rear naked choke, tightens the squeeze and Yuri quickly taps out.

1-0 for Nika (2:57).

The two women remain on their knees as they tidy up and listen to instruction.

Once the fighting starts, Yuri gets the best of Nika from up top and takes her down to the mats. Yuri’s beautiful curvy form is working to her advantage here as she powers her way on top of Nika.

Elongated, they capture one another in body scissors.

For the moment, Yuri is squeezing hard and is appearing to have the better of it. Still, Nika has her in a scissor as well.

Nika breaks the hold and in a sporting gesture allows Yuri to get back to her knees to ready herself.

As they engage, this time Nika gets the best of it and captures Yuri by the neck, takes her down and applies a side body scissor and squeezes. This looks like a sure submission as Yuri is struggling.

Nika continues to squeeze.

And squeeze.

Amazingly Yuri struggles and breaks the hold. As she rolls up to her knees, Nika traps her in a floor to sitting body scissor and squeezes hard. For good measure she grabs Nika’s right arm for an arm bar, side body scissor combination.

Yuri manages to break the scissor but Nika, still holding on to the arm lock, slides her legs up and encases Yuri in a brutal head scissor as Yuri grimaces. The arm bar finally does Yuri in and she taps (6:47).

2-0 for Nika.

They begin on their knees and Nika quickly traps Yuri in a floor to sitting body scissors and she makes it more effective by clasping Yuri behind the neck, pulling her forward as she tries to squeeze her out.

Yuri has the right response.

Every time we think to ourselves how new Yuri is, she surprises us. Today she has broken one solid hold after another so it appears she is getting additional training other than mat competition experience.

She does so again.

Yuri gets to her knees, then stands, flips Nika around into a painful back breaker hold but she can’t hold it.

Great idea though.

The bell sounds. It is the end of the first round (7:53).

They begin the next round in the standing position.

Nika immediately takes Yuri down with a headlock but doesn’t capture the top position as Yuri fights her off and both women are now fighting from the elongated side position.

As Nika tries to mount Yuri, the shapely warrior scissors her left leg to prevent that.

That’s the good news.

The bad news for Yuri is that she gives up her back and Nika quickly lies on top of her in the elongated position and begins to apply a choke.

Flat on her stomach, this time Yuri is in trouble. Nika applies the rear naked choke and its curtains.

3-0 for Nika (9:23).

Time to re-engage.

The two warriors stand on their feet and semi-circle one another. Yuri is the aggressor with two failed leg trip attempts but when Nika grabs Yuri for a takedown, she makes it count. She traps Yuri in a floor to kneeling body scissor and Yuri struggles but manages to stand up for leverage. Nika quickly grasps Yuri’s right arm and takes her back down to her knees. She then slides Yuri into a side body scissor. Seems like an ideal place to close but instead, Nika rolls on top of her.

There is a method to her artistry.

Nika quickly snaps her legs around Yuri’s upper shoulder and neck area, clasps her left arm at the same time, locks both holds in and Yuri taps out.

4-0 for Nika (11:05).

When it is time to fight again, Nika is ready for Yuri’s lunge and immediately takes her down to the mats. Yuri temporarily traps the athletic girl in a floor to sitting body scissors that Mika swats away and she is swiftly on top of Nika.

The chestnut blonde considers her options as she sits on top of Yuri. For a moment she thinks about a side body scissors and moves on from that. While she thinks, she continues to grasp Yuri’s wrists for control as she sits on top of her.

Yuri tries to fight her off with an arm fence and scissors Nika’s left leg for good measure.

Nika is still on top and in control.

Yuri struggles.

The bell sounds, ending round two (14:11).

Entering the final round, Nika plays it defensive, waiting for Yuri to lunge at her. She is ready to take Yuri down who surprises her with a headlock but can’t hold on to it and Nika immediately takes her down as Yuri gives up her back and Nika controls her from the back with a semi-side body scissor.

Yuri manages to struggle to the top but Nika still has her in a headlock, from the bottom position, and maintains control. Proof of that is when she rolls Yuri, the new star is back on top. She now slides Yuri into a painful side body scissor and its lights out. Yuri taps.

5-0 for Nika (16:03).

Nika now does a Zen thing, stands, takes a deep breath, her palms out wide, closes her eyes and breathes deeply again.

Now she is ready.

Unafraid of anything that Yuri can throw at her, she immediately takes Yuri down to the mat, whips her into a side body scissors, squeezes hard and it’s over that quickly. We applaud Nika for not allowing this to turn into a giggle space since she is so far ahead. She keeps the pedal on the gas and we appreciate that.

6-0 for Nika (16:50).

Yuri is not giving up.

We appreciate that as well.

Yuri is the aggressor and finally one of her trips works and she is immediately on top of Nika. The fresh faced athlete is fighting Yuri off with her leg but the aggressive Yuri swats her legs away, Nika falls flat on her stomach, giving up her back and Yuri elongates her body and now is on top of Nika, completely in control.

Can she close the deal?

This position calls for a rear naked choke and we wonder if Yuri knows how to apply it.

She is slow about it, a little unsure but she does have knowledge and applies it well. Nika finally taps out.

Good job Yuri.

6-1 for Nika (17:30).

Both girls appear to be figuring certain things out.

Yuri lunges at Nika and tries for the leg trip but Nika is more than ready for that and takes Yuri down. They fall into the elongated position and Nika has Yuri’s foot in place for an ankle foot joint lock but curiously lets it go. Thankful for the gift, Yuri instantly leaps on top of Nika, rolls her, making Nika give up her back and now applies a rear naked choke again.

They struggle. Nika’s hair is soaking wet from a long day of wrestling. She is not tapping out though. She finally removes one of Yuri’s arms but to some degree, Yuri is still moderately in control.

Nika gets to her knees.

Yuri is hanging on for dear life with a headlock choke from the side, like a bull rider. In a brilliant move, Nika flips her backwards, they hit the mats with a thud and Nika breaks the hold.

Yuri lays there slightly stunned and Nika seizes the opportunity to leap back into the top position. She immediately goes for Yuri’s wrists with a purpose. She grips Yuri left wrist and extends it into an arm bar while she scissors her around the neck and shoulder area.

A two headed hold monster.

In pain Yuri taps out.

7-1 for Nika (19:45).

As they ready for the ending, the two girls are very tired.

Yuri goes for the leg trip and this time Nika appears to fall backwards due to fatigue but she blocks Yuri from getting on top with a floor to sitting body scissor. Yuri rises to the standing position and is stationed for great body hold to turn into a back backer.

She doesn’t get the chance as the bell sounds.

It’s over.
