When you look at the beautiful grapplers, Morgana and Bambi, there is so much to say and expect during the first match of the Submission Room’s 2023, 25th Live Event.
Bambi, we have seen wrestle before and she continues to improve. We remember her as a newer girl who gave wrestling a try and has made a decision to return.
Good for us.
Morgana is new to us but given her athletically toned body, we sense she knows her way around the mats. In today’s fully competitive female submission wrestling industry, there are very few women who even have a chance of competing if they do not have basic MMA training.
After posing for a photo, it is time to throw down.

Generally when newer wrestlers are starting out, they are aggressive, get many submitting opportunities but are not experienced enough to close the deal and let many submission opportunities slip away.
So much today will be about strengths and weaknesses of holds.
They begin on their knees.
In their initial engagement, Bambi’s growing experience shows as she takes down Morgana, who temporarily gives up her back. Bambi immediately captures her with a body scissor and semi-choke.
Those are the strengths of Bambi’s initial charge.
The weakness, and a big one, is that she is applying this from the bottom or underneath position.
Morgana struggles to break free.
She does manage to break both holds but in doing so, now she is in the bottom position. To gain control, Bambi surges to a top cross body position but it is fluid and not secure.
They struggle more.
Bambi loses the hold as Morgana now captures her in a floor to sitting body scissor. Bambi is not in immediate danger but she does need to pry the scissors loose. Now Morgana is beginning to control the direction of the grappling.
That’s a strength.
She is doing it from the floor and that is a weakness. If Bambi breaks the hold, she is right back on top of Morgana.
She bear hugs Bambi, and for the moment, rolls her into a side body scissor. If she can keep her there, it is an ideal opportunity for a submission.
She can’t.
Bambi gets back up to the sitting position but Morgana still has control.
As Bambi leans backwards to break the scissor, this is an ideal time for Morgana to push her backwards and gain the top position. She grabs at Bambi’s wrists to maneuver as Bambi fights her attempt.
Bambi continues to buck and try and kick Morgana off.
Morgana adeptly rolls Bambi into a side body scissor coupled with a semi-choke. This is her best opportunity for a submission but with newer girls, nothing is guaranteed.
Fortunately for Bambi, she has her left arm inside of the scissor hold, preventing a full crunch.
Morgana begins to roll her around for a better position and now is in a situation to apply a powerful rear naked choke but Bambi is not giving in. She continues to fight the power.
Bambi is now on top but still trapped in Morgana’s scissor. There is no threat of a submission but Morgana, from the floor, is somewhat controlling the action with her strong thighs and legs.
The beautiful brunette clearly works out at the gym.
Bambi turns and almost breaks free but Morgana is back on top of her but now in an elongated position. This is an ideal time for a smother as she also has Bambi trapped in a grapevine. Morgana’s arms are out stretched, as she positions herself perched on arms, straightened above Bambi’s head.
That is the strength.
The weakness is that Morgana should immediately slide her hands behind Bambi’s neck, tighten her grip, pull Bambi’s head upward and let gravity work in her favor, causing a crushing smother but she doesn’t do that.
Morgana lets the submission opportunity slip away and Bambi breaks the hold (7:50).
Morgana is persistent and traps Bambi in a floor to sitting body scissors again and grabs her right arm for good measure. Controlling Bambi with her strong legs, Morgana is maneuvering the action but does not appear to be close to a submission.
They struggle around and Bambi manages to turn the tables on Morgana, clasping a side body scissor herself.
What will she do with it?
Bambi tries for a grapevine, is in a smother position but does not pursue it.
Having no real plan, Bambi not only loses the hold but the top position as well due to Morgana seizing her own opportunity.
Morgana is now on top.
For some time. Bambi lays flat on her back, arms crossed, trying to block a smother. This works for a while until she turns sideways and Morgana rolls her into a rear naked choke as Bambi has given up her back.
Morgana loses the choke.
They struggle around, with Morgana controlling the action and she finally sits on Bambi in school girl pin fashion.
Morgana loses the hold.
They wrestle around, with Morgana now on the floor but neither appear to have a real plan.
More wrestling around continues.
Bambi appears to be tiring and soon Morgana applies a cross body pin with Bambi breathing heavily.
She soon sweeps Bambi’s head into a triangle choke.
Bambi struggles from below, trying to break the hold.
Can Morgana secure this for a submission?
She can’t.
Bambi pushes her head out from Morgana’s strong thighs.
They struggle around some more without a real submission opportunity. Finally Morgana traps Bambi in a floor to sitting body scissors.
Time is running out.
Morgana manages to find the top position and appears to be content to lie there as Bambi tries to push her away from underneath.
The time clock is down to seconds.
Soon, time is up.
The energetic match ends in a 0-0 draw.
It was fun to watch the new girls get the event off to a good start, and given who is on the schedule, it will be intriguing to see how they perform in their next rounds.
