San Francisco Classic, New Girls, Eden Vs Dylan, Apply What You’ve Learned

June 22, 2023,

Times were good.

Actually, times were great. We should know, because, after all, we were there.

We loved it so much.

And when they are great, and you are in the moment, it is hard to imagine things being different.

But soon they will be different. And that is what catches you by surprise. The soon part. And once that “soon” passes? It will be never more.

A song comes to mind from the legendary sensational soft rock band, Ambrosia.

“Well I keep holding on to yesterday
I keep holding on enough to say
That I'm wrong...
I keep thinking that I'm lonely
But it's only missing you inside
Days that we were once together
Seems will never come alive
So I keep holding on to yesterday.”

Appreciate that Ambrosia.

Dylan vs Eden.

Those words smoothly roll off of our lips.

Both were super sweet girls.

The match would take place at the famous Academy studio in San Jose. Another hot smoky Bay Area day to the South of San Francisco. It was located near many office parks. That was ten years ago, so the office parks have expanded, and the real estate is far more expensive today.

Then? Things were simpler. When it comes to the past, aren’t things always simpler?

This is the first and only day FCI would work with Eden and Dylan.

Eden came to us by way of Academy wrestling.

Dylan came to us by way of Femwin, a Canadian company.

The two girls were very comfortable with one another and our concern was that they would giggle too much.

We had earlier interviewed both beauties, and like most female submission wrestlers, they had traveled the world. Europe in particular.

In terms of battle strengths, on film, we had seen both of them lose. Eden in particular lost so badly to Bryn Blayne that the match had to be stopped. We had worked with Bryn in Oakland at an event and knew that she was experienced and tough, so that came as no surprise.

Dylan lost a close one to a girl we didn’t know, and never saw again, so perhaps this is one of the younger wrestler’s opportunity to break through. We’ll see.

Time for new history to be made.

The two youngsters begin on their knees.

After our brief introduction, it is time to start.

As the two young women circle one another, Eden smiles and says, “You’ve been waiting for this?”

Not sure what that meant but Eden starts out as the aggressor. Dylan is the one backing up. Finally Eden grabs a slightly bent over Dylan from behind. The shapely brunette escapes the hold but Eden is persistent and pushes her backwards and down.

Eden is immediately on top of her.

At the time, we thought Dylan was fairly untrained, but here, she fences off Eden from smothering her with her arms and has immediately trapped Eden’s right leg to prevent a full mount.

The girl actually has had some training.

We switch our thoughts to Eden. Now on top, can she close the deal?

She does not.

Eden is actually less experienced than we thought. This would have been an ideal time to close the deal with a smother but instead Eden appeared to be more focused on removing her leg from Dylan’s scissor. Energy that could have been spent forcing a smother.

Oh, well.

Dylan breaks the hold.

Eden continues to stalk Dylan around the room as Dylan continues to back up. The taller girl leaps at Dylan for a headlock as she grunts loudly but can’t make it stick.

This goes on for about a minute.

The young wrestlers appear to have been trained in some defensive wrestling techniques but are fairly void of aggressive and effective offensive techniques.

Finally, Eden grasps Dylan from the side, as the curvy girl is bent over, but loses the hold again. Sensing this could go on forever, one of our associates holding the camera encourages Eden to put her full weight on Dylan and try and smother her. Eden complies but she has not learned to place her right arm underneath Dylan’s head and neck area to smother.

Eden is trying to put her full weight on Dylan but the curvy porcelain beauty has once again trapped Eden’s right leg.

As though reading our current mind, our camera person admonishes Eden to place her arm underneath Dylan’s neck to pull her into Eden’s chest area for the smother.

The technique is having some effect.

Both girls are breathing hard but Dylan, a little harder.

Eden is trying to smother and finally Dylan cries out that her neck is hurting. Eden continues to apply the pressure. Still, no smother. It is as though they reached a stalemate.

Our camera person would later admit, he thought about breaking them apart, but with Eden on top, he was hoping that she could keep applying the pressure. She was indeed applying the pressure, just not enough of it.

Dylan temporarily breaks the hold as she braces her arms to fence Eden off. It works but Eden is determined and tries for another smother by sliding her arm underneath Dylan’s neck again.

Now, the clock is starting to wind down.

The camera man asks Dylan if she could roll Eden over and Dylan replies that she can’t, not without letting go of Eden’s (right) leg. The thinking here is, if Eden can’t finish the job, perhaps Dylan would be able to.

No go.

Eden continues to try and smother Dylan out.

Now the match is down to seconds.

Eden makes one final attempt to push hard but the bell sounds and the match is over.

This one will end in a draw.

That is the challenge with working with newer girls. They have a lot of opportunities to extract a submission but just don’t have the skillsets.

This is one that Eden should have tried to put in her pocket. Later that day she would meet the sturdy Olivia D’Angelo, who is a great frontrunner, and got scratched up then brutalized.

For now, Eden was the front runner and a tie was like kissing a good friend.
