San Francisco Classic, Isamar Vs Olivia D’Angelo, Mentor And Pupil Ground Struggle

Meeting someone in person, that you have long admired, is one of life’s greatest blessings and most life affirming experiences.

Let’s take it to the next level.

Meeting this person and actually working with her on a women’s wrestling set and have her finally wrestle for your company, after seeing her wrestle for years for other companies is like working with a movie star.

We almost asked for an autograph.

The great Olivia D’Angelo provided that experience for FCI when she met her mentor, Isamar Gutierrez, our then recruiter, on the blue grappling mats at the Academy studio where Olivia wrestled so many of her earlier matches.

This was one of the first days that we worked with Olivia and we met Poppy of Gilroy the same day. A day that will always be lore in FCI history.

Given the extremely high skill level that Isamar possessed, while we didn’t expect Olivia to defeat her, we wondered how tough a fight she would put up. She had handily defeated Kait Snow and even injured her that day, so we knew Olivia had a slight mean streak in her when she gets going.

Will that be enough to make a match of it against a super star in Isamar?

Isamar Vs Olivia D’Angelo

It was a beautiful warm day in San Jose. It always seems to be.

The girls will begin on their knees and open with a hand shake.

Isamar looks tantalizing in her red one piece bathing suit and Olivia looks curvy delicious in blue.

We love our job.

Once the match begins, as the underdog, it appears Olivia is going to throw the kitchen sink at her mentor. She takes two hands, grasps Isamar behind the neck, takes her down and traps her into a side scissor and then rolls it into a floor to sitting scissor. Isamar is playing along and is waiting for Olivia to make a mistake and give her an opening.

As the expression goes, fight the source of the problem and the veteran slowly breaks Oliva’s hands apart, and though still trapped in a scissor, Isamar pushes down on Oliva’s stomach and chest area, swipes the young gorgeous raven haired brunette to the side and has completely broken the hold.

Bravo.

They scramble around, Olivia is trying to use her legs but in the process manages to give up her back.

Big problem.

Olivia is trying to hustle away from the Bay Area super star but Isamar is too quick, clasps Olivia in a Full Nelson, pulls the San Jose tough girl backwards, and adds a crunching scissor for good measure. Having her prey trapped, Isamar immediately applies a rear naked choke and Olivia grimaces in pain.

Isamar maintains the choke and rolls Olivia to the side. In doing so, Isamar makes the strange decision to give up the effective choke and try and mount Olivia. The San Jose girl wisely traps Isamar’s right leg to prevent a full mount (1:38).

The two athletic women struggle on the ground floor.

Isamar is trying a different strategy but Olivia has her locked up, both top and bottom. But, Isamar still has the clear advantage because she is on top.

They’ve come to a stalemate.

Trying to survive from the bottom, Olivia is breathing hard with veins protruding from her forehead.

Isamar finally breaks through, controls Olivia’s upper torso area, rolls to the side and applies a forceful arm bar. Trapped and in pain, Olivia taps out.

1-0 for Isamar (3:40).

As the next round begins, Olivia is the aggressor as she leaps towards Isamar and bear hugs her. She takes Isamar down to the mats, has her wrapped up in a head and body scissor combination but doesn’t appear to be near submitting Isamar who has a strong will to survive.

Wait a minute. Maybe we are wrong.

Olivia let’s go of the headlock and concentrates on squeezing the body scissor with maximum pressure. Isamar is grimacing and not moving. Is a submission coming?

No, it is not.

Olivia lets off of the pressure, just a little, and that is all that it takes for Isamar to break the hold. Though trapped in a loose scissor, Isamar is starting to take over. She tries to apply a cross body pin but Olivia quickly traps her right leg. Good move but she is still hanging on for dear life.

From the top, Isamar is slowly maneuvering to be in position to perform an arm lock. It takes some time but she eventually achieves her goal. On the verge of being smothered, and in pain, Olivia verbally concedes.

2-0 for Isamar (6:10).

The two do not take a break and get right back at it.

Olivia leaps at Isamar and the Bay Area star takes an interesting approach by falling to the mat floor and grabbing Olivia’s arm to secure an arm bar.

It doesn’t work.

It is Olivia who traps Isamar in a floor to sitting body scissor and has Isamar bent over and grimacing in pain.

Big question?

Can the pupil maintain and gain a submission?

She can’t.

Isamar out duels her, breaks the hold and is moving Olivia towards a side body scissor. She lets go of the scissor, and while on top, focuses on the headlock with great success. Olivia taps out.

3-0 for Isamar (7:48).

Olivia wants no rest.

Perhaps she should take a break, because even though she is the aggressor, all she is doing is falling right into Isamar’s waiting arms. Isamar traps her in a floor to sitting body scissor and Guillotine choke. This could be over quick.

It indeed is. Olivia taps out.

4-0 for Isamar (8:20).

The first submission took 3 minutes and forty seconds to attain, the last one less than a minute.

Olivia should take a break.

The San Jose tough girl leaps at Isamar. The veteran is more than ready. She quickly collapses Olivia into an arm bar. Done deal. When Isamar gets an opening, she makes the most of it.

5-0 for Isamar (8:48).

That last submission only took 28 seconds.

Isamar is extremely confident and it’s showing. As Olivia leaps towards her, Isamar easily fends her off, spins around the gorgeous raven haired brunette and mounts her as Olivia assumes the turtle position.

Now it becomes easy.

Isamar rolls Olivia over and from the bottom applies a brutal rear naked choke. Stick a fork in her, Olivia is done. The beautiful shapely girl is clearly tired.

6-0 for Isamar (9:44).

The match now over, the two beauties pose for an interview and it’s a wrap.

This is a reminder of how strategically powerful Isamar can be without tiring.
