There are certain foods in life that make you unbelievably glad that you are at a stage of your life where you can eat anything you want.
You are most likely very young.
You work out a lot and sweat the sodium and toxins out of your body.
Maybe you can think of another category. Good if you can. Even if it is temporary.
There was a friend in our circle who used to go to an old school Chinese smorgasbord where the food was incredibly good.
Unbelievably good.
He had a ritual where he would take his time, stack his plate with all sorts of delicious Chinese dishes and easily eat for an hour.
Did he go for seconds?
What do you think?
Dessert too.
Vanilla ice cream with chocolate topping.
It is not something he did every day or week, about once a month.
One day, after going to the post office, he stood for a moment and said to himself, “You know, one day because of age and health, you will never be able to do this again. Even though you were at the restaurant last week, go there again today. One day, you will never be able to do this again.”
So, he went.
And he was really glad. Why?
This was a month before Covid hit the United States hard and the restaurants had to temporarily close.
Some did not survive the loss of revenue and went out of business.
His favorite Chinese buffet was one of them.
It never opened again.
Our friend savors the memories. Thinks about it every day.
Another true accounting.
We have an associate who did something wonderful for a family and to repay her they invited her to an incredible dinner at an elite restaurant.
First they had to take a ferry to get to the island where it was located.
Once they were dining, she slowly ate one incredible dish after another, didn’t know what most of them were, but did know they tasted out of this world. As soon as she slowly ate one dish, the nicely dressed waiter served her another.
It took her six hours to eat.
Yes, dessert eventually came too.
Now, for another dish to savor.
KFC is introducing an incredible sounding dish that some may never have heard of, but word has it, the meal is incredibly good.

Introduced by KFC, it's basically chicken fillet layered with pizza toppings such as pizza sauce, chicken ham, pineapple chunks, mozzarella and topped with cheese sauce. The chicken bybrid is then baked like a pizza with a fried chicken crust.

Fried chicken fans can get a first taste of KFC's Chizza at the "Chizzeria" Pop-Up in NYC on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-24

Starting Feb. 26 for a limited time, KFC is introducing the international smash hit, Chizza ("cheet-za"), to KFC menus in the U.S.* It's not pizza, it's Chizza: two 100% white meat Extra Crispy™ fried chicken filets topped with zesty marinara sauce, melty mozzarella cheese and crispy pepperoni.
