March 14, 2024,
No matter how strong or resilient most of us appear to be, at times we all need comfort. Agree?
Now, if you are fortunate enough to have family and friends, you can find comfort there.
Good for you.
No, great for you.
Having said that, increasingly more and more people are living alone. In our female submission wrestling and Session Woman industry, that number is probably higher than average.
So, if you find it challenging during hard times to find comfort in people, while it may not be an equal substitute, finding comfort in foods certainly has its place.
Looking for ideas?
Well, so much depends on which cuisine you favor. We love dinners from Asia, in particular the variety in Chinese food.
Street Food is an American documentary that premiered on Netflix on April 26, 2019, created by David Gelb and Brian McGinn, exploring street food around the world.
Archival footage is combined with face-to-face interviews and follows street food chefs and their history, which is intertwined with the big picture of how influential street food is on their native country.
Open up your nostrils to smell the incredible unique foods.
The series took us to Bangkok, Thailand; Osaka, Japan; Delhi India; Yogyakarta, Indonesia; Seoul, South Korea; Chiayi, Taiwan; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Singapore and Cebu, Philippines.
The cuisine looked so good, it made us want to walk through the screen.
What we liked most was meeting the Street Vendors and hearing their personal stories. It was telling, moving and fascinating.
Yummy.
Speaking of yummy, one of the aspects that we love about San Francisco is the number of Mom and Pop neighborhood establishments that you can go to and find comfort foods.
As of this writing, Spring is here and one of the comfort foods we love is a tasty milkshake. The trick there is that the dream creation can be very high in sugar, and for those lactose intolerant, unhealthy.
Word to the wise. Don’t give up on milkshakes.
We all need our legendary comfort foods, so we are sharing with you a milkshake designed to please vegans and vegetarians.
Check it out.
HLTH CODE LAUNCHES COMPLETE MEAL PLANT BASED SHAKE FOR VEGANS AND VEGETARIANS

Revolutionary Meal Replacement Shake Now Available Without Dairy To Provide The Most Nutritionally Complete Meal To Anyone
THE WOODLANDS, Texas, Feb. 15, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- HLTH Code, an acclaimed metabolic health brand, has responded to customer requests for a plant-based protein shake and is introducing HLTH Code Complete Meal Plant Based powder containing 27 grams of protein and 15 to 17 grams of fiber per serving. The powder also provides a one-to-one ratio of healthy fats to protein, which has been demonstrated in human clinical studies to offer significant health benefits (Frontiers in Nutrition, January 31, 2020). Intentionally designed to contain sufficient calories to adequately fuel the body (400 per serving), optimize metabolism, and prevent insulin resistance, this powder prioritizes protein and healthy dietary fats while limiting carbohydrates to be the ultimate plant-based meal replacement on the market.
The protein is derived from pea and rice that undergoes a proprietary mushroom fermentation process using shitake mycelial to enable 99.9% of the protein to be easily digested and absorbed, resulting in a more complete protein. This protein blend ranks as the highest PDCAAS (protein digestibility–corrected amino acid score) that any protein can achieve (1.0), indicating that it will provide 100% of all the essential amino acids required in the human diet. This fermentation process also results in improved gut health, reduced anti-nutrients (plant compounds that block the body's absorption of key nutrients), reduced bloating, and improved flavor.
"We're thrilled to introduce the most nutritionally complete plant-based meal replacement shake on the market and are proud it's also by far the best tasting," said Joel Bikman, Co-Founder of HLTH Code. "Since launching our original Complete Meal product in 2020, we've received many requests for a dairy-free version, as for some it can be hard to digest. This new product also allows us to provide the most advanced nutrition to those following a vegan or vegetarian diet."
Unlike other plant-based shakes, the proprietary fermentation method used in HLTH Code Complete Meal Plant Based makes the shake smoother, better tasting and gentler on the gut. Available in Chocolate or Vanilla, it mixes with water to create a tasty and creamy drink or can be incorporated into smoothies or other recipes. Sweetened with monk fruit and naturally sugar-free fermented sugar cane, it only contains one gram of sugar per serving and zero grams of added sugar, with only four grams of net carbs. It's gluten-free, keto-friendly and non-GMO, without any artificial ingredients, flavors or colors.
Designed to replace an entire meal once or twice per day, it's especially great for breakfast because it's formulated to complement intermittent fasting by allowing the body to effectively remain in a fasting state with low insulin levels. An easy way to meet daily nutritional goals, it also contains up to 50% of the daily recommended intake of 26 vitamins and minerals. The blend also contains apple cider vinegar, digestive enzymes, and probiotics to improve digestion, gut health, and reduce bloating.
HLTH Code Complete Meal Plant Based contains 15 meals in each bag and is available for $64.95 or via subscription for $54.95 at getHLTH.com. At $3.66 per meal shake, it's far healthier, more convenient and more affordable than virtually any other meal that could be prepared or purchased.
