In a historical matchup between a champion and a challenger, it begs the question, how well can the hopeful wrestler compete.
It would help to look at how the challenger fared against other female submission wrestlers on the London mats of that era.
England’s Mystique is a champion in any era. She is skilled, strategic and absolutely relentless.
Jenna’s chances today are rife with question marks and a brief look at her resume doesn’t inspire a lot of optimism. You are what your record say you are.
She squeezed out solid victories against Jade and Razor Red. She was defeated by fantasy girl Shay Hendrix, statuesque tough Nikkitta and always impressive Blaze. She tied a respectable wrestler in Laken. All and all, not a bad resume but nowhere near Mystique’s mastery.
Based upon that, today, we expect Mystique to win.
Time to go ringside.
MYSTIQUE VS JENNA

The two British beauties begin on their knees.
First, the hand fighting begins. They both exchange advantages and Jenna breaks the stalemate with a floor to sitting body scissor attempt. Mostly a futile move. Don’t execute it perfectly and your opponent falls right on top of you.
Mystique falls on top of Jenna.
Jenna quickly scissors the British star’s right leg to prevent a full mount but Mystique is still on top.
The curvy brunette temporarily breaks away from Mystique’s attempted smother but is reeled back in. Mystique now covers more of Jenna’s torso and head area. Jenna struggles again and lands on her stomach allowing Mystique, in the elongated position, to cover her from the top and behind.
Jenna is in trouble.
Now comes more pressure.
Mystique is applying pressure from the top. It is text book submission wrestling. The British star has a behind the back waist scissor on Jenna while she maneuvers to choke her from the top. Give Jenna credit. Thus far she won’t submit.
Mystique is persistent and relentless.
She continues to tighten the choke, so much so that veins are protruding from Jenna’s forehead. As Jenna squirms around, the gorgeous brunette gets to her knees but Mystique rides her like a pony, refusing to let go of that choke. Jenna is in excruciating pain. No sympathy from the champion. As Jenna falls back down to the mats, Mystique seems to turn and corkscrew the grip and Jenna painfully taps out.
1-0 for Mystique (2:24).
The two sensational girls begin on their knees. Jenna is pushing Mystique backwards and then attempts a left ankle grab but in cat like fashion, Mystique uses that to her advantage and leaps on top of Jenna, then bends the sweet brunette over.
Always with a plan, Mystique slides to the side, capturing Jenna’s left arm in an arm bar while she slides her long legs across Jenna’s upper torso and snags her head in a scissor. A double hold combination spells trouble. Yet, after some struggle, Jenna manages to escape.
Surprise, surprise. Good for her.
For now.
Mystique sits on top of Jenna and keeps working the left arm, trying to separate it and secure that arm bar. She looks like a cat pawing with a struggling mouse and in those scenarios?
We know who is eventually going to win.
The operative word is eventually.
Give Jenna credit. She locks her arms as Mystique tries to fallback and elongate the left arm for an arm bar and legs across the chest, head scissor combination. Jenna scrambles out of that.
The dangerous cat is still in play.
Mystique quickly leaps behind Jenna’s back to pull her backwards for a behind the back scissor and choke. Mystique certainly loves her combination holds. It is the way of the elite wrestler.
Trapped, Jenna taps out.
2-0 for Mystique (4:53).
They begin again. Jenna is trying to be aggressive but she keeps walking right into traps. Or, in this case, lowering her head into one. Mystique immediately clasps her into a Guillotine Choke but surprisingly lets go of it and pushes her way on top of Jenna, grabbing her right arm.
Stay with the tried and true.
Like she has done before, Mystique falls back, elongates the arm bar, stretches her legs across Jenna’s throat and soon, under great duress, Jenna taps out.
The champion leads 3-0 (5:57).
Time to engage.
Mystique goes old school on Jenna and immediately grasps and secures a headlock. Jenna is caught off guard and once again is struggling. Mystique tries it for a while and then quickly transfers it into a side body scissor while Jenna is on bended knee. Mystique keeps moving and swiftly maneuvers Jenna into a Guillotine Choke and floor to sitting body scissor.
What is next in Mystique’s bag of tricks?
Okay, so Jenna breaks the hold. The shapely brunette then grabs at Mystique’s ankles who then forces Jenna backwards and immediately, leaps on top of Jenna. Mystique then goes back to the tried and true, locks Jenna’s left arm up and begins to pull backwards. Jenna locks her arms to try and stop the arm bar.
Will Jenna succeed?
Yes, she does. And her reward for doing so?
She gets her head squeezed.
Mystique quickly encases Jenna’s head in a scissor and squeezes. What will Mystique think of next? She thinks of an arm bar and across the chest scissor. That’s what she thinks of next.
Jenna escapes.
Impressive.
Mystique swiftly leaps and sits on top of Jenna as the brunette locks her arms in prevention mode. We don’t mean to be defensive, but Jenna is very defensive today. We won’t find it offensive if she puts on some offense.
Mystique doesn’t appear to agree.
No problem.
She pulls Jenna into a behind the back body scissor and marries it with a brutal rear naked choke. Give Jenna credit. She is willing to take the punishment for an extensive period of time but at some point you need to let go. She finally does and taps out.
4-0 for the British star Mystique (10:18).
They begin on their knees.
Jenna lunges at Mystique and tries for a right arm headlock. Mystique side sways it and immediately traps Jenna in a body scissor. Jenna struggles and will not submit. Mystique quickly grabs Jenna’s arm and sits on top of her. She goes for the tried and true with another arm bar attempt but Jenna wards that off. The challenge for Jenna is that Mystique has options 5 through 10 to exchange into. Here?
She chooses the reverse head scissor from the top position and squeezes mightily. Jenna tries to resist for some time but, as the expression goes, resistance is futile. Jenna taps out.
Mystique leads 5-0 (11:39).
As they engage, Jenna pushes Mystique back up against the wall. Mystique is quick to stretch out her long elegant legs and trap Jenna in a scissor, surge backwards and take her down, holding on to a side scissor. Jenna locks her arms to try and prevent the pull-back arm bar. Mystique inserts her legs between Jenna’s arms to try and break the lock.
A war of attrition begins.
More struggle.
Mystique finally breaks the lock and clasps the brutal arm bar. Jenna tries to fight it off, even circling around the mats until she can’t. Then taps out.
Mystique leads 6-0 (13:31).
The two beautiful girls begin hand fighting from their knees. It is a stalemate until Mystique leaps in the air and uses her left arm to trap Jenna in a headlock. She then takes the brunette down to the mats. Jenna immediately scissors Mystique’s left leg to prevent a full mount. Good move.
For now.
Mystique continues to apply the pressure from above. Soon she clasps Jenna’s right arm, bends the elbow and applies a brutal wrist lock. Jenna taps out.
7-0 for the champion (15:14).
More hand fighting.
Jenna pushes Mystique back, grabs her ankles and Mystique kicks her legs forward to mount Jenna, who holds on to Mystique’s left ankle. Jenna holds onto that ankle for dear life. It is the first sign of offense in ages. She is tightening the grip as Mystique keeps squirming around, trying to escape. Can Jenna hold on for an ankle lock submission?
Unfortunately no.
Mystique escapes and goes offensive.
She captures Jenna in a right arm headlock. Jenna locks her arms together around Mystique. This stalemate struggle goes on for some time and predictably, Mystique opens up the playbook and breaks it. The British star sits on top of Jenna, maneuvering her arms into an arm bar. With many options in her playbook, Mystique settles on a left leg headlock and very painful wristlock. It’s too much.
Jenna taps out.
Mystique wins 8-0.
Jenna put up a good fight. Give her that. However, when you are going up against a great talent like Mystique, who can open up and brilliantly perform the pathways in her playbook, it is virtually impossible to beat her.
Just ask other British female wrestlers.
