Today’s Intense Submission Room Battles, Tomorrow’s London Classics, Kaos Vs Emily, Nika Vs Lexi Max, Viktoria Vs Rapunzel

August 6, 2024,

Moment by moment, tomorrow’s classics spring from today’s competition.

The history of female submission wrestling is kept alive with articles about our great stars, long retired, and the matches they entertained and competed in.

Certain cities have an era and a vibe that brings that out.

San Francisco, from 2012 to 2014 had an incredible women’s submission wrestling sub culture that thrived. Then when the armory closed down, it essentially faded away.

London has been more sustainable and if you follow Grappling Stars Magazine, you know that we write about both San Francisco and London.

London women’s wrestling continues to thrive.

Today, we will take excerpts from recent matches sponsored by London’s legendary Submission Room that have occurred recently and have become instant classics.

Enjoy.

KAOS VS EMILY

There will be no distractions today.

No audience cheering.

No bantering with the crowd.

Kaos and Emily will be battling it out in a private setting.

Typically with other companies we are concerned that the wrestling will not be as intense as when it is in front of a live audience but in this venue we are comfortable it will be quietly competitive.

Emily’s strength is that she is a body builder and, though newer to wrestling, has some matches under her belt.

Kaos is fairly new to the fully competitive female submission wrestling world but she is a skilled MMA fighter and with that resume alone, we expect her to win today.

The two women introduce themselves and begin the match standing.

After initial upper arm and neck fighting, Kaos bear hugs Emily and slowly takes her down to the mats, lying on top of her. Emily quickly scissors Kaos right leg to prevent a full mount.

It didn’t work.

Kaos strengthens her hold and Emily taps out for an early submission at 58 seconds.

1-0 for Kaos.

They next begin on their knees.

Emily uses her muscles to bear hug Kaos, pushing the stealth MMA warrior backwards. She is now on top of Kaos but the question with a newer wrestler is, what will she do with it?

Not much.

Kaos rolls her off.

Now Kaos is on top.

They roll around and struggle.

Emily gives up her back and Kaos applies one are around her neck, is MMA trained, yet curiously does not go for the rear naked choke. Instead she rolls backward taking Emily with her.

Emily is in trouble.

They struggle some more but Kaos is in the position of strength with Emily making the mistake of giving up her back. Now Kaos decides to apply the rear naked choke. Emily grimaces and taps out.

2-0 for Kaos (2:10).

Time to begin on their knees.

As they engage, the muscular Emily surprises Kaos and traps her in a Guillotine Choke.

Can she use those muscles to close the deal and get a submission?

Kaos breaks the hold.

The MMA fighter then moves forward on top of Emily who traps her right leg with a scissor to prevent a full mount and also has Kaos grasped in a hug. Still, Emily is fighting from the bottom, often a weak position.

Kaos breaks that hold too.

Now the two women are fighting on their knees and once again Emily gives up her back but manages to escape long enough to trap Kaos in a headlock; the most basic move in wrestling and one of the better ones.

As long as you can maintain the top position.

Emily does not maintain the top position.

Kaos now rolls up behind Emily again and is closing in on another submission.

Kaos applies a floor to behind the back body scissors.

Time for a brief teaching point.

Being on the floor is rarely a good idea especially when applying body scissors to an experienced wrestler who is in the sitting position, because if she breaks the hold, she is ready to surge forward and obliterate you with an instant smother.

If you are on the floor and she has given up her back, as Emily has here, even if she breaks the hold, she is not in a position of strength.

Kaos uses her MMA skills to apply a rear naked choke and Emily taps out.

3-0 for Kaos (3:44).

NIKA VS LEXI MAX

Like Dorothy, if we could click our heels and wish for anything, lovely though it may be, we wouldn’t wish to go back to Kansas (especially during tornado season).

At least not as our first wish.

After watching Nika wrestle, she is the new tornado that has blown into our industry with dynamic energy and is making global news.

If we clicked our heels, we would wish for more money and opportunities for Nika to wrestle.

She is that good.

She is that special.

Wrestlers like Nika do not often come along, so while she is here, we are going to try and capture her glory.

Nika is new to the submission wrestling industry but not to MMA. Her martial arts training is very evident. Her desire to win is crystal clear.

Today she will be facing a veteran in Lexi Max, who FCI would classify at the intermediate level with substantial experience. She has a long list of victories but struggles when she meets the elite.

This will be an important test for Nika as she has met newer girls, with great success, in her previous matches.

If this were in the NFL, it would be like watching the expansion team having a great run, against under 500 opponents and is now about to battle an 8-6 team with a long history. This is where you find out how good you actually are.

Given her strong MMA skills, we are going to give the pre-match nod to Nika but we expect this one to be close. We already know that Nika is for real, but in all fairness, this might be her toughest test to date.

It’s match time.

Lexi Max is introduced first and she indicates the room is warm.

Nika leaps into the picture (literally), and what strikes us is how she is taller and stronger looking than her opponents, like Lottie LaLay and here, Lexi Max.

Nika is a beautiful specimen with girl next door looks and just the right amount of muscle.

Time to begin.

After initial upper torso fighting, Nika falls to the floor to attempt a floor to sitting body scissors. Lexi easily breaks the hold and falls on top of Nika in cross body pin style. Always the risk with a floor to sitting scissor is, if you don’t secure the hold, your opponent can immediately fall on top of you. Depending upon the skill level, sometimes they never let you back up off of the floor until you are submitted, as Bianca of Italy so masterfully did with Hungary’s muscle girl, Dolly.

Nika is a strong girl and she manages to force her way on top of Lexi and temporarily gain control as they struggle. Lexi is very experienced and she manages to turn the tables and be back on top as well.

Lexi now lowers Nika’s head and forces her into a semi-Guillotine Choke, and secures Nika’s head. Now she applies the floor to sitting body scissor. The big difference between hers and Nika’s is that Lexi secured Nika’s head first and grasping her from behind the neck, tightens the grip and applies the scissor at the same time.

Nika is in trouble.

Lexi holds on, squeezes hard and Nika taps out. Well done by Lexi. Nice veteran move.

1-0 for Lexi (3:34).

While we wouldn’t describe ourselves as shocked, we would say that we are a little surprised.

Having said that, there is still a lot of time left.

The two strong women engage from the top trying to secure the head and shoulders.

Nika wins out.

She takes Lexi down to the mats and attempts to apply a side body scissor. Lexi wisely blocks the scissor with her right leg. The struggle continues. Nika tries to secure an arm lock on Lexi’s right arm.

Nika lets go of the hold and flattens Lexi out on her back as she sits atop her. The gorgeous athlete spins around and attempts a face sit as she maneuvers for a submission. Lexi fights through the hold and even breaks it. Her joy is brief as she falls into a side body scissor, Nika squeezes, Lexi groans and taps out.

Were knotted 1-1 (5:25)

VIKTORIA VS RAPUNZEL

While we wouldn’t call it a day off at the office, perhaps we would phrase it, at home cutting the lawn.

Simply stated, we expect the legendary Hungarian star Viktoria to win.

The DWW-HWW super star has been around for decades and while she is a very skilled wrestler, almost performing with Judo like precision where she uses her opponents aggressive movements to trap them, she has yet to develop strong MMA skills which makes her less effective in the modern world. At this very event, she got completely demolished by the solid MMA star Kaos.

Here she faces Rapunzel at a live Submission Room event in London at a newer venue.

Rapunzel has some competitive experience but mostly against fantasy and newer female wrestlers. She is shorter than Viktoria, which the two girls poke some humor at, and she is blessed with long beautiful hair.

As the two beautiful women get ready, Viktoria is in form, with a nice sense of humor, as she does pre-match posing with Rapunzel. With Viktoria, she has a way of silently winning matches without hurting her opponent, so that’s good news for Rapunzel.

Time to go ringside.

They begin from their knees. As they engage, Viktoria takes a passive approach and allows Rapunzel to come to her. Rapunzel starts slowly attacking the head and neck area and, in response, Viktoria simply falls back to the floor and encases Rapunzel in a floor to sitting body scissor. The Hungarian beauty has made a decision to control Rapunzel with her legs.

They struggle.

Rapunzel is trying to attack but appears to lack the experience so Viktoria appears to be waiting for the long haired maiden to make a mistake.

She does.

Rapunzel allows Viktoria to sit up and, as we stated earlier, she is larger than Rapunzel so the DWW legend pushes Rapunzel backwards and now begins to take control from the top position. Atop Rapunzel, Viktoria slips her right arm behind Rapunzel’s neck, maneuvering her into a position for a headlock smother. She is being methodical and patient. Rapunzel properly responded by scissoring Viktoria’s left leg to prevent a full mount.

On top and in the elongated position, Viktoria is continuing to press the issue.

Slowly.

Methodically.

But not painfully. She is persistent in trying to secure a smother and Rapunzel is adept at preventing it. Viktoria keeps moving upward and finally breaks her leg free from the scissor, sits on top of Rapunzel and is now in total control to extract a submission. From that position, take your pick.

She chooses the side body scissor, Rapunzel is in trouble, but to her credit, is not giving up. The athletic brunette manages to get to her knees, bends forward and now potentially has Viktoria in trouble. The HWW legend is persistent in her floor to sitting body scissor and is gradually moving Rapunzel around.

We don’t see a submission coming soon.

This methodical ground war appears to be Viktoria’s current style and against Rapunzel, for now, it’s adequate.

Viktoria, for the moment, is content and seemingly unconcerned, to lie on her back and try and control Rapunzel with her strong beautiful thighs. Rapunzel is being shaken from side to side but still is not threatened by a submission.

Viktoria rolls her and is now on top of her.

Rapunzel immediately crosses her arms to fence the DWW legend off and prevent a smother. The good news for Viktoria is that Rapunzel failed to secure a thigh scissor and now Viktoria is free to apply a full mount. The Hungarian beauty slowly moves forward. As time has passed, Viktoria appears to be very content to take her time. Sometimes that works well for her, especially in times past, but in the new world riddled with MMA stars?

Mostly it doesn’t.

Now, when Viktoria loses, they are mostly lopsided affairs, like at this event where MMA star Kaos totally decimated her. The good news? Talented though she may be?

Rapunzel is not Kaos.

A war of attrition ensues as Viktoria tries to break through Rapunzel’s fence. The British girl is responding well, not allowing Viktoria to penetrate her force field.

Time to change things up.

Viktoria rolls Rapunzel into a brutal side body scissor. Will this be enough for a submission?

Not yet.

Rapunzel strongly kicks out and breaks the scissor. Viktoria is quick to maintain a floor to sitting body scissor, using her arms and legs to keep Rapunzel locked in. The Hungarian beauty continues to move Rapunzel around and around until finally she makes her move and rolls on top of her. At this point the pretty British girl is fending Viktoria off from the bottom position. Not an offensive move in sight.

Rapunzel is elongated and Viktoria is bent over at the knees on top but continues to take her time and not forcefully smother Rapunzel out.

Patience is a virtue but not when is it allowing submitting opportunities to slip away. Patience is strategic but when is it poor strategy, allowing a less experienced wrestler to keep hanging around, what kind of strategy is that? The clock is ticking in this match.

Viktoria needs to do something right now. Will she?

Instead, she remains patient.

Viktoria continues to slowly maneuver from the top, sliding her hands and arms behind Rapunzel’s neck, and then removing them. Rapunzel is trying to kick out and once again uses her arms as a fence to block any potential smother.

Apparently Viktoria is not thinking about a smother.

She goes DWW old school on Rapunzel and slowly slides her into another side body scissor, a move that, back in the day, Viktoria applied with brutal precision. She squeezes. Rapunzel is squirming to escape. This time Viktoria secures the sweet brunette’s head, and squeezes mightily again. In her squirming efforts, Rapunzel makes the mistake of turning in to Vitoria’s body and the teeth of the scissor.

It was a lethal mistake.

Rapunzel taps out.

Finally.

1-0 for Viktoria (13:23).

SUMMARY

That was a close one. Surprisingly. But, a classic.

We love our London female submission wrestling classics.

Now, more than ever.
