September 4, 2024,
Predictable used to be boring.
That was when times were good. Safe. Well off.
Predictable in today’s world of upheaval, war and political strife would be welcome.
It is so hard to know what to expect next.
Is predictable the new safe and inspiring?
How about on the female submission wrestling mats? Is predictable good?
We sense it depends upon your mood.
If you are a fan of the female wrestler involved, no doubt you want her to win.
Predictably so.
If that is the case, then you’ve come to the right place.
We love our British girl wrestlers because for decades, so many of them have been predictably good. Whether it was at London Wrestling Studios with the legendary Honey overseeing the action, the great Femwrestle Events in Troisdorf, Germany, Pippa’s Submission Room in London or Antscha’s elite events in Hungary, the British girls have been predictably good.
Here are three match excerpts that speak to that.
KAOS VS EMILY
The two women introduce themselves and begin the match standing.
After initial upper arm and neck fighting, Kaos bear hugs Emily and slowly takes her down to the mats, lying on top of her. Emily quickly scissors Kaos right leg to prevent a full mount.
It didn’t work.
Kaos strengthens her hold and Emily taps out for an early submission at 58 seconds.
1-0 for Kaos.
They next begin on their knees.
Emily uses her muscles to bear hug Kaos, pushing the stealth MMA warrior backwards. She is now on top of Kaos but the question with a newer wrestler is, what will she do with it?
Not much.
Kaos rolls her off.
Now Kaos is on top.
They roll around and struggle.
Emily gives up her back and Kaos applies one are around her neck, is MMA trained, yet curiously does not go for the rear naked choke. Instead she rolls backward taking Emily with her.
Emily is in trouble.
They struggle some more but Kaos is in the position of strength with Emily making the mistake of giving up her back. Now Kaos decides to apply the rear naked choke. Emily grimaces and taps out.
2-0 for Kaos (2:10).
Time to begin on their knees.
As they engage, the muscular Emily surprises Kaos and traps her in a Guillotine Choke.
Can she use those muscles to close the deal and get a submission?
Kaos breaks the hold.
The MMA fighter then moves forward on top of Emily who traps her right leg with a scissor to prevent a full mount and also has Kaos grasped in a hug. Still, Emily is fighting from the bottom, often a weak position.
Kaos breaks that hold too.
Now the two women are fighting on their knees and once again Emily gives up her back but manages to escape long enough to trap Kaos in a headlock; the most basic move in wrestling and one of the better ones.
As long as you can maintain the top position.
Emily does not maintain the top position.
Kaos now rolls up behind Emily again and is closing in on another submission.
Kaos applies a floor to behind the back body scissors.
Time for a brief teaching point.
Being on the floor is rarely a good idea especially when applying body scissors to an experienced wrestler who is in the sitting position, because if she breaks the hold, she is ready to surge forward and obliterate you with an instant smother.
If you are on the floor and she has given up her back, as Emily has here, even if she breaks the hold, she is not in a position of strength.
Kaos uses her MMA skills to apply a rear naked choke and Emily taps out.
3-0 for Kaos (3:44).
MYSTIQUE VS JADE
After stretching and shaking hands, the two feminine girls come to the middle of the room.
They hand fight and Mystique gains the advantage by taking Jade down with a headlock. Jade quickly scissors Mystique’s left leg to prevent a full mount.
They struggle around as Mystique tries to free up her leg and Jade tries to prevent her from doing so. Essentially a war of attrition ensues until Jade gets to her knees.
Perhaps a mistake.
She is no longer flat on the bottom, true, but by getting to her knees, she lets go of the scissor which frees Mystique to use her left leg and right, to apply a behind the back scissor. That with a combination of a choke spells doom for Jade and the sensuous model taps out.
1-0 for Mystique (1:35).
They engage with hand fighting.
This time Jade is the aggressor and applies a floor to sitting body scissor on Mystique, which fails, and now Mystique is right on top of her. Jade quickly applies a scissor, this time to the right leg, to prevent a full mount. No matter, Mystique is applying the pressure from above anyway.
We’ve said it a thousand times. Trying a floor to sitting body scissor is a move of desperation.
Mystique soon breaks the leg scissor and is trying for an arm bar as she pulls Jade’s right arm towards her. Jade is desperately trying to keep both of her arms locked together to prevent elongation. Mystique now swings her legs over Jade’s neck and is coming in for the kill.
There is a war of attrition.
Finally Mystique wins it by trapping Jade’s head in a scissor which gives her leverage to pull on the vulnerable arm and make her case for an arm bar. It works in diamonds. Jade taps out.
2-0 for Mystique (3:42).
They begin again on their knees. Jade is perched a little higher. She tries to obtain the superior position and eventually traps Mystique’s right leg. If she could secure a joint lock, that would be great.
She can’t.
Mystique moves forward and is on top of Jade. The shapely UK beauty is once again in trouble.
When Mystique gets you in trouble, you rarely escape from the hold.
Like Jade’s situation here.
Like a clever cat in the wild, Mystique is beginning to package the sweet curvy Jade into a combination hold of a choke and behind the back body scissor. Jade is struggling, even once coming to her knees but it is very evident that Mystique is not going to let go.
The British star positions herself better and squeezes harder until the weaker prey is swallowed up and taps out.
Mystique leads 3-0 (6:25).
AXA JAY VS RAGE
Rage has the talent but she doesn’t have Axa’s experience and it immediately shows. The girls do some initial hand fighting and clever Axa soon traps Rage into a sitting body scissors. Rage attempts an escape but it is not to be.
At the 1 minute mark, Rage concedes grimacing “Okay, okay”.
Axa 1 - Rage 0
That was quick.
In round two Rage tries to take a page out of Axa’s hand book and that is indeed a good idea but you must remember something.
You have to be experienced enough to do that. Superior skills and precise execution is the key.
At this point Rage just isn’t there yet.
She tries to encase Axa in a body scissors and temporarily it works but then Axa begins to turn the tables on her and continually tries to pin her while counting. Rage does break the holds but she is in defense mode. What she doesn’t realize is that Axa is positioning her for a side body scissors, sitting submission. Check mate.
Axa 2 – Rage 0.
We are beginning to sense that a rout could be in store.
Rage has notched a lot of victories but they have come at the expense of newer female wrestlers in the Czech Republic.
Here she is facing an Axa Jay who has improved light years from the time that Femcompetitor Magazine wrote about her approximately 6 years ago.
As round three begins, Rage is energetic but cautious and for good reason. Axa is becoming very adept at sliding in and out of holds while keeping her real agenda hidden. It is very impressive to watch her woman handle Rage because we know that Rage is no slouch.
Rage does try a cross body pin but Axa immediately throws her off and begins to maneuver Rage into a sliding head scissor. Job well done. Rage lays there for a minute then submits.
Axa 3 – Rage 0
The fourth round goes by in a blink of an eye.
The two beautiful ladies roll around and before you know it, Axa is sitting on top of Rage and begins to count.
She doesn’t get far.
Rage submits at a two pin count.
Axa 4 – Rage 0
SUMMARY
Well, that was predictably wonderful.
We picked the super talented British babes Kaos, Mystique and the legendary Axa Jay, virtually always winners.
We could have thrown in Sable, Nika and Sativa for good measure.
We sense you get the point.
When it comes to British female submission wrestling, predictable is never boring.
No matter the time period.
