San Francisco Female Grappling Classic, Champion Isamar Vs Pupil Daisy Ducati, Surprise, Surprise

September 27, 2023,

When you enter a situation like this, what captures your attention more?

The legendary facilities or the star San Francisco Bay Area wrestlers involved?

It’s a tough call, but a good one. A great situation to be in. Makes you feel that you are a part of history in the making and years later, here we are.

Isamar appeared to be a mentor to so many and she will be facing one of her more talented pupils in Daisy Ducati at the famous Academy studio where so many famous female wrestlers have competed.

Afterwards, we will go out to lunch.

Of course.

Earlier Daisy easily dispatched a well-known European wrestler who has since long retired and a sweet new East Bay girl named Evadne.

Notably, Isamar will be her toughest test today.

Time to go ringside.

ISAMAR VS DAISY DUCATI

Both beautiful girls begin on their knees.

Daisy sits with her legs spread out wide making no pretense she is about to scissor Isamar.

Isamar smiles, in admiration saying to watch out for those scissors. Good advice Isamar. Especially for you since we will be filming from the sidelines.

Ready, set, go.

Daisy immediately attacks by grabbing both of Isamar’s arms and pulling her forward. She then pulls Isamar’s head down low and then applies a tough, tight floor to sitting body scissor. Isamar is in anguish but fighting to escape.

We’ve said over and over, the floor to sitting body scissor is a weak move. The experienced opponent will escape it and be right on top of you. Here, Daisy seems to sense that and, right on cue, she quickly slides the hold into a side body scissor and applies a brutal Triangle Choke. It is too well applied and Isamar taps out. That was a shocker. The two camera people in the room go “oh”.

Oh, indeed.

1-0, for Daisy.

Daisy is right back beckoning Isamar into her scissor. This time Isamar is ready for it and as Daisy tries pulling the champion forward, Isamar immediately forces herself into a cross body pin position over Daisy and the talented student immediately captures Isamar’s right leg in a scissor to prevent a full mount. Good moves by both.

They both circle and hold their positions. Daisy adds a lock to Isamar’s left wrist for good measure. Isamar is trying to strengthen her smother position.

They continue to struggle.

They continue to circle the mats.

It has now become a war of attrition.

Isamar wins that war.

She forces herself free from Daisy’s scissor and applies a painful headlock, from the top position.

Daisy is now in trouble. She too has a weak headlock, from the bottom position.

Isamar ratchets up the pressure and tightens the wrist lock. In pain, Daisy taps out.

1-1 (4:16).

Like a rising star upstart, Daisy got off to a good beginning. Now that the champion knows her moves, can she continue to surprise?

As they begin, both start wary and slowly. Daisy still protrudes the attacking scissor position only this time Isamar is going to come in slowly. As Isamar lurches forward, Daisy tries to apply a full floor to sitting scissor but settles for scissoring one leg.

Always remember the weakness of the floor to sitting body scissor. Don’t apply it perfectly (few do) as Daisy failed to do here and you have a big problem.

Your opponent is right on top of you.

Isamar easily breaks the one scissor hold and now goes to full mount over Daisy.

Her pupil is now fighting from a very weak position. Isamar uses the usual tactics and applies wrist locks. Daisy withstands that but Isamar has such a varied attack arsenal that she surprises Daisy, launches to the side and tightens Daisy’s left arm into a painful elongated arm bar. Enough is enough and Daisy taps out.

2-1 for Isamar.

Things are returning to form. Returning to what was expected.

Daisy now adjusts her knee pad and shakes the pain out of the arm bar.

Will Daisy try and change things up?

She doesn’t. She starts in the same exact position.

As Isamar attacks frontal, Daisy captures her arms and pulls her forward into a perfect floor to sitting scissor. The student has scissored Isamar’s body and has her head trapped as well. As we said, you have to apply this move perfectly. High risk. High reward. Isamar screams and taps out.

2-2 (7:55).

Well, the expected has now turned into the unexpected. Given how the time is running out in this ten minute match, it is anyone’s guess who is going to win. Given that Daisy keeps applying that floor to sitting scissor, which must be applied perfectly, the odds are in Isamar’s favor.

Time to find out.

Isamar approaches on her knees but straight up. Daisy is indeed waiting in that scissor position. Isamar changes things and leaps for Daisy’s head. Daisy does not pursue the scissor, and though captured up top, she immediately grabs Isamar around the waist and rolls on top of her.

Great move.

In desperation, Isamar scissors Daisy’s right leg. The intensity level has greatly increased as they both fight for position. Isamar uses her muscle to roll on top of Daisy who keeps her captured in a headlock.

Isamar breaks Daisy’s lock and applies a full headlock of her on from the top position.

Daisy is in trouble as Isamar tightens the headlock. Things have completely turned to the champions favor.

Except the clock.

Time runs out.

The match is a draw.

This had all of the elements of a great match. Daisy got off to a great and surprising start. Isamar, the more experienced wrestler counter punched and took control. Daisy did not back down and applied a perfect floor to sitting scissor.

So it went.

It went down in history as another San Francisco mat classic.

What do you do after a great match like this?

FCI takes you out to lunch.

A group of us would travel together to a sandwich shop in a Victorian house. The food was exceptional. It was a warm day so we mostly wanted to make sure they had ice cream.

They did.

A perfect way to end a sweet female wrestling day.
